Council Resources

The following forms, although publicly accessible, are to be used internally by Council Members to conduct the day-to-day business of the Native Hawaiian Education Council in the effort to streamline our collective efforts and reduce paper waste.

  • Data Binders

Data binders were distributed to each Island Council Chairperson as a resource for the NHEA grant application writing process. The data are intended to be used to provide evidence supporting the need for a particular program in a specific community.

All information is from the Hawai'i State School Readiness Assessment, which provides information on kindergarten children’s readiness to succeed in school and on the schools’ readiness to support their learning. The assessment instruments were developed by the School Readiness Task Force, in partnership with the Department of Education, Kamehameha Schools and Good Beginnings Alliance. The School Status & Improvement Reports contain descriptions of each school, its setting, a summary of school improvement progress, available resources, and vital signs on school performance.

Please see the State of Hawai'i Department of Education Accountability Resource Center for detailed reports on every elementary, intermediate, high and multi-level school in the state. The University of Hawai'i Center on the Family also offers community profiles that may be helpful in this process.
